Marion Cotillard's dream as a kid wasn't acting. It was singing.

Funny, then, that her Oscar came for playing one, Édith Piaf, in La Vie en Rose. Best Actress, Golden Globe and Academy Award both. She's still the only performer ever to win an Oscar for a French-language role, and only the second for any non-English performance, period.

She trained at the Conservatoire d'art dramatique d'Orléans. Both her teachers were her parents.
